#FabBag February 2015

Since I had subscribed Fab Bag for 3 months, here comes the second instalment in February. Being the Valentines’ month, it had to be special and I guess a lot of people waited eagerly for it. The theme for February was #DateNight and the best part of it was the Fab Bag itself. A super cute and gorgeous black faux leather heart shaped bag with short silver chains was what I received. Loved the bag and I’m already using it as a clutch.

If you still haven’t subscribed The Fab Bag, do so now.

The contents in this bag were: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth plus Nourishing Nail Color in Beige Frost shade, LA Splash Lip Couture liquid Lipstick, Livon Moroccan Silk Serum, Kama Mridul Soap free Cleanser and Kama Brightening and Rejuvenating Night Cream.

1. Sally Hansen Maximum Growth plus Nourishing Nail Color – I’m a frequent nail colour person and love experimenting with new shades and brands. Sally Hansen has been on my wish list since long as it’s a coveted brand in nail colours. Much as I was excited to try the product, the shade turned out to be a bummer. I received Beige Frost which looks almost nude on my nails. Though the shade is lovely otherwise, it didn’t do me any good. I applied three coats and it still was too light to be noticed against my skin. The quality of the product is great but the shade was a dampener. Wish I’d received a better one!

Price – Rs 575 for 13.3 mL

2. LA Splash Lip Couture liquid Lipstick – A full sized LA Splash liquid Lipstick is all you need for a #DateNight and I got one. The shade I received is Forbidden and it’s a fuller red one. It takes very less quantity to be applied at one stroke and will last you really long. The lipstick is liquid, looks like a gloss but has a matte finish. It looked great on me for all I know. The only downside is the longevity. You can’t wash or wipe it, you’ll need a very strong make up remover for it. Overall, a great product and an asset for my closet.

Price – Rs 995 for 10 mL

3. Livon Moroccan Silk Serum – I’ve used bloody good hair sprays abroad and craved for some in India. I think this Livon Silk Serum should be a good substitute to hair sprays. It is a concentrated liquid and you need very little for a short crop like mine. It has to be applied on wet hair and makes the hair silky, smooth and straight. Quite a useful product in my opinion. Would like to use a full sized product soon.

4a. Kama Ayurveda Mridul Soap-free Cleanser – This is the first Kama Ayurveda product for me and I’ve been hearing only good things about it. I received a 5 g sample powder of this cleanser. It’s a wonderful product containing Neem, Oatmeal and other great stuff. Since I have an oily skin, I mixed it with rose water and used as a cleanser for consecutive 3 days. It makes the skin absolutely light and clean and gives a fresh feeling. I’d definitely purchase a full sized product for regular use.

Price – Rs 295 for 40 g

4b. Kama Ayurveda Brightening and Rejuvenating Night Cream – Though this one doesn’t smell great, it’s a very effective product for problematic skin. I’ve been applying it for a few days now at night and keeps the skin moisturised and supple till morning.

Price – Rs 1195 for 50 g

Verdict – Liked the products so far in February’s Fab Bag. I’d rate it 3.5/5. The negative points going to Sally Hansen’s Beige Frost shade. Best product for me is Kama Ayurveda’s Mridul soap-free cleanser. It’s an amazing product and I’d love to use to the full size.
