Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream

This winter has been particularly harsh on my feet, resulting in a neverending search for effective foot care products. I’ve been trying out foot scrubs, salts, and creams which would return some softness to the horribly cracked soles. This trial of various products has culminated into a series of winter care products that will find a place in this review section. Himalaya Wellness have been a pioneer in herbal products and I’ve been using their face wash as well. Here’s a detailed review of the Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream that I loved using this winter.

Appearance

The foot care cream comes in two sizes – tubes of 50g and 20g. I received the 50g tube for review. It is non-messy, easy to carry for travel and convenient. The cream is non-sticky and has a faintly herbal aroma, not too overpowering.

Ingredients

The Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream contains the following natural ingredients that are essential:

Sal Tree extract – used as an ointment for skin & ear diseases. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that heal cracked feet

Honey – used as a moisturising agent, it has anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties.

Turmeric – used as a natural antiseptic, it has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe the cracked sole

Fenugreek – used in Ayurveda as a moisturiser, it hydrates the skin and heals boils

Ginger – used as a circulatory stimulant, keeps the feet warm and prevents cracking further

How to use

Wash your feet with lukewarm water and pat dry. Apply the cream over cracked skin twice daily (after a shower and at night) for best results.

My Experience

I can go on raving about this Foot Care Cream, but the first thing that impressed me is the texture. It is absolutely non-sticky and that’s what I love most about this cream. Give it a bare 5 minutes and it will be absorbed into your feet beautifully. I’ve been using the product for over a fortnight now and the cracks on my soles have entirely disappeared. Ingredients like turmeric and honey have amazing hydrating properties that have enriched this product. I think I’m going to use it every winter now, after failed attempts with other Indian foot care cream brands. The best part is, Himalaya Wellness has effectively convinced my mother to use this one too!

About the Brand

Himalaya’s story began way back in 1930. A curious young man riding through the forests of Burma saw restless elephants being fed the root of a plant, Rauwolfia serpentina, which helped pacify them. Fascinated by the plant’s effect on elephants, this young man, Mr. M. Manal, the founder of Himalaya, wanted to scientifically test the herb’s properties. After four years of researching the herb Rauwolfia serpentina, Serpina®, the world’s first natural antihypertensive drug was launched in 1934. Today, the Himalaya brand is synonymous with safe and efficacious herbal products. Starting off operations in Dehradun way back in the 1930s, the company later spread its wings to Mumbai and across the country. In 1975, the company set up an advanced manufacturing facility in Makali, Bangalore, India. In 1991, the company relocated its R&D facility to Bangalore.
