I am not much of an interior decorator by nature. I have always dreamed of great interiors while living in rental places. In fact, I still do as I don’t ‘own‘ a home as yet. Having a couple of rooms to stay at my parents’ or in-laws’ place is not what I call home. Those are pieces of architecture that they have built spending their money, sweat and often blood – decking them up in their own styles. I can add bits and pieces to those rooms in order to claim them as ‘mine‘, but they aren’t really so. I believe in creating a home at the rectangular box of an apartment where I live each year. I have this plan of a dream home which I have chalked out putting puzzle pieces of blueprint together and adding my own touch to make it my home, our home.

Asian Paints has been a part of our childhood as far as I can remember. It has been the epitome in the paint industry of India touching our lives in some way or the other. In our friends’ circle, whenever we have a doubt about any hue/chroma/value, the parley always leads to , “Ab Asian Paints ka shade card laaun kya? When it comes to the blueprint of my dream home, well, it indeed is all in blue. The place would have a theme and it is blue. I am a very blue person, it’s in my comfort zone. If the decision would only be mine, I’d have painted the whole house blue! But then, there are stuff called aesthetics, contrast and defying boredom. Blue soothes me when I’m down, it lifts me more when I’m high, it can even cheer up my rainy mornings, but that’s only me. However, I’d like to set the basic theme blue for my home and play with other shades wherever possible. The idea of having a textured blue for living room quite appeals to me. I already have low seating areas done with divan and cushions in my living room and would like the same in future. In fact, I’d love to have a wall done in complete glass, mostly like in the tropical country homes, overlooking the sea. Here’s a glimpse of the same idea done with a bedroom and I think it looks great.

If you feel that’s enough of blue already (I’m sure my family would feel the same too), here’s something to cut down the blues. I prefer my kitchen and dining room to be in white so that it looks serene and peaceful while cooking delicacies for us and guests. Also, a wall or pillar in bright brick would do great to break the monotony of blues in the living room and bedroom.

I caught a sneak peek at some of the other customized shades for rooms and here’s what I liked. These are too pretty to have your room done in and look picture perfect.
